
BOC Aviation, the Singapore-based aircraft leasing subsidiary of Bank of China, has entered into an agreement with Airbus for the purchase of 50 A320 aeroplanes, including 25 neo jets.
The firm order, which was signed in December 2012, comprises A320 and A321 variants of both engine options, neo and ceo.

BOC Aviation plans to choose the engine to power its A320neo jetliners at a later date.
The last order placed by the aircraft lessor for A320ceo airliners was in 2010.
BOC Aviation managing director and chief executive officer Robert Martin said: "The A320neo family order reinforces our commitment to be a key player in the leasing industry as we make the latest eco-efficient aircraft available to our customers."
Airbus COO Customers John Leahy added: "With this latest order for A320 family aircraft, BOC Aviation is well placed to continue to build on its position as a top tier leasing company."

By GlobalDataFollowing the latest deal, BOC Aviation’s cumulative orders for new Airbus aircraft has reached a total of 187, with 131 having already been delivered to airlines.
To date, BOC Aviation has successfully placed Airbus aircraft with more than 40 carriers worldwide.
Featuring large Sharklet wing-tip devices, the A320neo is scheduled to enter service in late 2015 and will accommodate up to 180 passengers.
A320neo will offer 15% fuel savings and a double digit reduction in NOx emissions, according to Airbus.
Airbus has received more than 1,600 firm orders for its A320neo jets since its inception in 2010.
To date, the European aircraft manufacturer has received around 8,900 orders for the A320 airliners, with 5,300 having been delivered to more than 380 customers and operators worldwide.
