Latin American airlines AviancaTaca has received the delivery of its ninth A330-200 aeroplane from Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France.
The addition of the 100th Airbus aircraft to the AviancaTaca fleet is a part of its flight equipment modernisation programme.

AviancaTaca chief executive officer Fabio Villegas said the new aircraft would allow the company to increase its passenger offering, while also boosting its expansion programme and enhancing customer service.
"The integration of this 100th Airbus aircraft to the AviancaTaca fleet is a reflection of both our and Airbus’s commitment to strengthening the aviation industry in Latin America," Villegas added.
The A330-200 aircraft is powered by Rolls Royce Trent 700 engines and can seat 252 passengers, with 30 in business class and 222 in economy, and covers short-haul to long-haul ranges.
It has a takeoff weight (TOW) capability of 238mt with no operating empty weight (OEW) increase, which allows for an extra 330nm of range, giving the aircraft 7,250nm of endurance, or an additional 3.4t of payload.

AviancaTaca, which has a nearly all-Airbus fleet, has combined orders for 190 aircraft and currently operates 100 Airbus aeroplanes, comprising 91 A320 and nine A330 aircraft.
