Honeywell will provide wheels and brakes, the brake control system (BCS) and tyres for the new C919 airliner to Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC).
Honeywell’s carbon brake will reduce aircraft weight and therefore lower operating costs from lower fuel burn and a longer brake life, as well as increasing operational performance for C919 operators.
The wheels and brakes solution is expected to provide C919 operators with an increased life of up to 2,200 landings per overhaul.
Honeywell will form a joint venture with Hunan Boyun New Materials to provide the wheels and brakes system for the new C919 airliner.
