Boeing will continue to buy titanium forgings and rough-machined titanium forgings from VSMPO-AVISMA until 2015 for use on its 787 Dreamliner, 777 and 737 commercial airplane models.
VSMPO-AVISMA has been supplying raw material and titanium parts to Boeing through a series of long-term purchasing agreements since 1997.
In July 2009, Boeing and VSMPO-AVISMA opened a 50/50 equity joint venture, Ural Boeing Manufacturing (UBM) in Russia, which machines titanium forgings for the 787.
