Boeing and two All Nippon Airways (ANA) pilots have flown the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for the first time.
The aircraft is the first of six flight-tested 787s that took a demonstration flight lasting two hours and 40 minutes.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes 787 programme vice-president and general manager Scott Fancher said that the flight was a customer demonstration for the launch customer’s lead pilots to evaluate the 787.
During the flight, the pilots performed multiple take-offs, landings and other manoeuvres to evaluate the aircraft’s handling characteristics along with other 787 flight-deck features.
A special airworthiness certificate granted by the US Federal Aviation Administration enabled the flight.
