The Russian Progress M-05M cargo supply spacecraft has completed docking with the International Space Station (ISS), despite failure to dock in automatic mode.

The vehicle was anchored to the station manually by ISS astronauts following an unidentified failure in the automatic sequence.

Investigations suggest a fault in Progress’s propulsion system.

The cargo craft delivered 2,600kg of supplies to the station including propellant, oxygen, food, scientific equipment, additional hardware for ISS RS and USOS, and crew parcels.

The spacecraft was launched atop a Soyuz launcher on 28 April 2010.
