Bombardier recently showcased its Q400 NextGen turboprop airliner for the Bahamian Government, Bahamasair (the national airline) and other stakeholders.

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft Sales Americas vice-president Kevin Smith said that the Q400 NextGen aircraft’s operational flexibility, low-cost operation, reduced environmental impact and passenger comfort were suited to the needs of the people of the Bahamas and the neighbouring regions.

The Q400 is an advanced successor to Bombardier’s Dash 8/Q-Series family of aircraft featuring an enhanced cabin environment, LED lighting and larger overhead luggage bins along with an active noise and vibration suppression (ANVS) system.

The company currently has firm orders for 363 Q400 and Q400 NextGen aircraft, and had delivered 288 of the aircraft by January 2010.
