International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) will sell a portfolio of 53 aircraft for $1.987bn to Macquarie Aerospace.
The sale will result in an increase in the average age of the remaining fleet from 7.4 years to 7.6 years.
The sale of the aircraft in the portfolio is expected to occur between now and the end of 2010.
ILFC focuses on leasing and remarketing advanced technology commercial jet aircraft to airlines worldwide and owns a portfolio of approximately 1,000 jets.
