Boeing is to increase the rate of production for the 747 aircraft earlier than planned.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes marketing vice-president Randy Tinseth said that 2010 was seen as the year of overall economic recovery within the industry, and 2011 a year where airlines would return to profitability.

“As a result, we anticipate an increase in demand for airplanes in 2012 and beyond,” he said.

The manufacturer will push forward the planned increase in production from five a month to seven a month from early 2012.
