Era Group is to purchase ten AW139 helicopters from AugustaWestland under a new purchase agreement.
The AW139 is a new-generation medium twin-engine helicopter, powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6C-67C engines with seating for 12-15 passengers.
The helicopter features an ergonomic cockpit, and engines with FADEC to deliver high power-to-weight ratio maximising safety in demanding operational conditions.
The AW139s will be used by the operator for offshore transport missions.
The helicopters will add to Era’s fleet, which includes 22 AW119Ke single engine, seven AW109 Power light twin and 17 AW139 helicopters.
Era Group operates in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil, and offers offshore transport, pipeline surveillance and other services.
