Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has unveiled plans to manufacture 165 passenger planes between 2010 and 2012.
Russian industry and trade minister Viktor Khristenko said the UAC intends to produce 54 long-range aircraft, including 38 Tu-204s, ten Tu-214s and six Il-96s.
The existing fleet of regional aircraft is expected to be replaced by 72 Sukhoi Superjet 100s and 39 An-148s, English.people.com.cn reports.
UAC is a Russian government-owned enterprise established in 2006 comprising 18 subsidiaries, which include airplane maker Sukhoi, the Ilyushin aviation complex, and the joint stock company Tupolev.
