UTC Aerospace Systems has signed an agreement with Singapore Airlines to extend an existing asset management and repair services contract for a period of 15 years.

The $200m agreement covers 19 Airbus A380 aircraft operated by Singapore Airlines.

Part of UTC Aerospace Systems’ Comprehensive Accessory Repair and Exchange (CARE) programme, the agreement will allow Singapore Airlines to receive inventory support and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the 19 aircraft.

“Singapore Airlines has been leveraging the CARE offering for digital transformation initiatives using prognostics and data analytics.”

The deal will also support a suite of products, including actuation, controls, air management system, cabin pressure control systems, emergency power systems, fire protection systems, lighting, evacuation slides, and sensors and integrated systems.

UTC Aerospace Systems commercial aviation vice-president Jim Patrick said: “Singapore Airlines has been leveraging the CARE offering for digital transformation initiatives using prognostics and data analytics, and helping to establish the programme as a leading aftermarket service.”

The company currently provides MRO services to Boeing 777, Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 aircraft fleets operated by Singapore Airlines under the existing CARE support agreement between the companies.

The deal covers more than 130 aircraft.

In a separate development, UTC Aerospace Systems has secured multiple contracts totalling $250m from eight Asian airlines to provide wheels and brakes for more than 550 aircraft.

The airlines include China Eastern Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Hong Kong Airlines, Korean Air and Sichuan Airlines, along with various Hainan Airlines affiliated airlines.
