Telos Identity Management Solutions (Telos ID) has received a contract from the City and County of San Francisco to provide designated aviation channeling (DAC) services to process worker background checks at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in the US.
Approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the DAC services aim to enhance data integrity and the efficiency of credentialing operations, while lowering costs.

The services are designed to facilitate submissions of workers’ biographic and biometric data in order to carry out background checks of individuals working in secure areas of commercial US airports.
Telos ID carried out on-site training for both DAC and Rap Back and integrated with HID SAFE, the airport’s identity management system (AIDMS).
Telos ID aviation security vice-president Dawn Lucini said: “The DAC services deployment at San Francisco International Airport is notable for its size and scope, specifically the integration with SFO’s AIDMS, enabling efficient I-9 document transfer and Rap Back transmissions.
“With more than 25,000 badge holders, we have streamlined the worker background check process, while upholding the high-security standards at SFO.”

DAC is an encrypted, web-based solution that allows users to securely access the system when internet is available.
Featuring a modular design, the solution aids airports and air carriers, providing users with one platform for different functions.

Last year, Telos ID secured a contract from Los Angeles World Airports to provide DAC services at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in the US.
