IT solutions company SITA has acquired MEXIA Interactive, a Canada-based curb-to-gate passenger analytics provider for the air transport industry.

The takeover of MEXIA is set to boost SITA’s existing airport operations, while strengthening its passenger flow management solutions.

SITA believes that the deal will provide its customers with a complete and predictive view of passenger flow information and help them boost operational efficiencies and upgrade services.

MEXIA’s technology recognises and predicts constraints in queues such as check-in, security and taxi lines while monitoring the time spent by travellers in airports.

Furthermore, MEXIA Interactive enables airports to find non-aeronautical revenue potential by offering shopper numbers, conversion rates, and trends through insights on passengers in the airport.
