Schiphol Airport (AMS) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has utilised JCAII to enhance its deicing operations using the latter’s Icelink and Icelink SmartPad technologies.

The latest development builds on the duo’s existing relationship, which started in 2011.

Volker contracted JCAII on the airport’s behalf to deliver the solutions, which include its latest generation of electronic message boards (EMBs).

This is said to help Schiphol’s deicing facility feature the “most advanced” deicing coordination solution built on the Icelink technology.

The deployment of Icelink will further improve winter operations with increased connectivity and complete real-time integrations including connectivity between dispatch and deicing crews/trucks and flight deck and docking.

It also includes connectivity between FIDS, AODB, A-SMGCS, and A-CDM to facilitate a comprehensive real-time performance status for business intelligence.

Icelink and Icelink SmartPad mark a software and hardware upgrade following more than a decade of JCAII’s earlier product generation.

JCAII president Jeff Campbell said: “Icelink is being deployed globally, and we are engaged in supporting growth and adoption of the solution across a wide customer base.

“As we innovate new features, functionality, and integrations, we are looking forward to direct engagement from the entire Icelink community towards collaborative product road mapping.

“It is exciting to be delivering safety and efficiency as part of digital transformation in the airline industry. We value all our relationships and are grateful for this further endorsement by Schiphol.”

Schiphol added that the EMB installation was concluded ‘on time’ and will support complete Icelink SmartPad automation.

With the installation of the Icelink solution, Schiphol has become the first in Europe with the most advanced deicing solution in the industry.

Schiphol project manager Willem de Weijze said that the airport is pleased with the “reliability, performance, and overall value” of JCAII’s technologies.

“It was clear that a reinvestment in JCAII / Icelink will provide seamless connectivity and improve data intelligence needed towards achieving further safety and efficiency in winter operations JCAIIs ability to deliver a long-term proven solution within a short delivery timeframe,” he noted.
