Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, has opened a new IDCC in Bangalore, India.

The new centre will share the same campus with Pratt & Whitney’s engineering and supply chain operations centres of excellence. In addition, the location will also bolster collaboration with other RTX businesses and functions in India, including Collins Aerospace and RTX Enterprise Services.

RTX is a US-based aerospace and defence giant headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. It has more than 185,000 employees globally, with around 5,000 working from India.

Pratt & Whitney is an aerospace manufacturer and subsidiary of RTX Corporation. The latest round of investment in Bangalore comes on the back of more than $500m invested by the company in engineering services in India over the past two decades.

Bangalore is the capital of India’s southern Karnataka state, the sixth-largest Indian state by area and one of the most industrialised states in the country. According to GlobalData’s FDI Projects Database and the National Statistical Office, Karnataka ranks as the third most competitive state in terms of inward foreign direct investment (FDI), with an index score of 2.11.
