Pristina International Airport in Kosovo has implemented Spanish IT company Amadeus’ Altéa Ground Handler Departure Control solution (DCS), and Cloud-based Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS).

The airport has improved interoperability and reduced processing costs by 20% since implementing Amadeus’ technology.

Limak Kosovo International Airport JSC chief operating officer Gökmen Aritay said: “As we continue to grow our passenger numbers, open new routes and attract airlines, it is vital that we operate a cost-efficient, agile and reliable operations, underpinned by a fully integrated suite of solutions.

Pristina International Airport welcomes nearly two million travellers per annum. The airport developed its infrastructure and extended its route network due to an increase in-flight numbers.

Following the deployment of Amadeus Altéa DCS, the airport could improve its operational agility and also reduced its costs associated with check-in and airline weight and balance activities.

The Amadeus BRS solution will enable the airport to comply with IATA’s Resolution 753, which came into force last month.
