Parker Aerospace has delivered the fully digital, three-axis fly-by-wire flight control system for the Gulfstream G600 twin-engine, long-range business jet.
Manufactured by Gulfstream Aerospace, the aircraft obtained its type certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) last month.
During the development and certification process, the aircraft’s primary and secondary flight control system components met airworthiness standards.
Parker Aerospace Control Systems new development programmes director Drexel Pope said: “This is an exciting milestone for Gulfstream and Parker is proud of its joint accomplishments on the G600.
“The success of the digital flight control system with electric backup hydraulic actuators on this sophisticated aircraft follows the recent achievements Parker realised on the Gulfstream G500, which received its FAA type certification in July 2018 and entered into service that September.”
The Parker fly-by-wire control system consists of electrohydraulic and electronic equipment. It also provides command and monitoring capabilities that support the aircraft in multiple mission profiles.
