Thales has launched the data-driven ECOsystem solution to deliver support for capacity, efficiency and operations optimisation in the aviation industry.
ECOsystem helps airport operators, air navigation service providers (ANSP) and airlines to monitor, plan, manage and assess operations related to aviations, thereby deriving better decisions and enhanced results.
The system can be configured to meet customer’s operational requirements, and is equipped with a suite of the latest cyber-security features developed by Thales.
It also includes complete system-wide information management (SWIM) for the flight information exchange model (FIXM), the aeronautic information exchange model (AIXM), and the weather information exchange model (WXXM).
ECOsystem provides complete data protection to enhance security and privacy between users and organisations.
The solution will initially be used as part of an Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) application, assisting aviation stakeholders in optimising flights services based on weather and congestion.

Azerbaijan’s Air Navigation Authorities (AZANS) is the first customer to implement the ECOsystem ATFM application at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku in Azerbaijan, immediately after its launch.
AZANS will install Thales’s TopSky Tracker to enhance air surveillance, as well as the ECOsystem platform to improve airspace management and services.
Aimed at unifying the European airspace, the SESAR programme will implement the next-generation platform for the 2016 SESAR TopLink large-scale demonstration in Croatia, France and Austria.
Thales VP in charge of ATM business Jean-Marc Alias said: "Today, the aviation community loses up to $9bn a year as a result of aviation system inefficiency and waste.
"Impact from delays, cancellations, excess fuel load and overall ineffective use of resources erodes revenues and customer satisfaction.
"ECOsystem provides the aviation community with business intelligence for smart, collaborative decision making."
