Brazil's Tancredo Neves International Airport (CNF) has implemented Rockwell Collins’ ARINC vMUSE common use passenger processing solution (CUPPS) to enhance its services for travellers.

Implemented by CNF operator BH Airport, the new solution is expected to streamline airport processes and reduce costs.

ARINC vMUSE is said to provide an improved check-in solution for travellers by enhancing the airport's existing infrastructure.

Its scalable, open design can be easily integrated with flight information displays, baggage management, resource management, and operational databases.

BH Airport infrastructure director Adriano Pinho said: “CNF, one of the main hubs in Brazil, is experiencing rapid passenger growth.

“Rockwell Collins’ ARINC airport solutions are enabling us to provide services that allow us to cost-effectively handle the increase in passengers as we grow."

“We want to be a new gateway to enter Brazil and Rockwell Collins’ ARINC airport solutions are enabling us to provide services that allow us to cost-effectively handle the increase in passengers as we grow.”

BH Airport will also implement Rockwell Collins’ ARINC SelfServ common use self-service kiosks, as well as its ARINC AviNet network and message solution, which helps airports to manage flights and aircraft maintenance operations.

Introduced by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 2009, the CUPPS standard was developed to replace the common use terminal equipment (CUTE) standard, which has been in place since the 1980s.

Rockwell Collins focuses on developing flight deck avionics, cabin electronics, simulation and training, mission communications and information management.
