
UK-based security technology manufacturer Smiths Detection has secured a contract to supply high-speed baggage scanners for Bremen Airport in Germany.
The HI-SCAN 10080 XCT is a type of X-ray inspection system that scans checked-in baggage for explosives.

It has been developed to be integrated into existing baggage handling systems, which enhances efficiency by simplifying the scanning and evaluation processes of X-ray images.
To be operated at a high-belt speed, the HI-SCAN 10080 XCT has the capacity to scan approximately 1,800 items an hour.

By GlobalDataThe HI-SCAN 10080 XCT has been evaluated by the European Civil Aviation Conference in accordance with Standard 3 and meets all current regulatory requirements for checked-in baggage security inspection. The system has also received laboratory certification from the US Transportation Security Administration.
