Egypt’s flag carrier EgyptAir has implemented SITA’s Airfare Insight technology, which will allow the airline to make quick and timely changes to its fare pricing.
With the implementation of the new technology, EgyptAir will have enhanced visibility of its fares across all markets, meaning it can offer the most competitive airfares to its customers.
Being a part of SITA’s Horizon portfolio, Airfare Insight provides the airline with the capability to monitor, accurately assess the competitor landscape as well as rapidly react to changes in the market with the right fare at the right time.
SITA Middle East, India and Africa president Hani El-Assaad said: “Our focus at SITA is to ensure that we make air travel easy at every step.
“With Airfare Insight, we deliver technology that meets this promise by simplifying how airlines manage airfares, optimising their processes to improve their speed to market and delivering the most competitive fares available.”
Prior to the launch of the new technology, airlines used to compare fares with competing carriers using base or ‘filed’ fares that bore little resemblance to the price paid by the customers.
With Airfare Insight, EgyptAir uses the technology’s ‘All in Fare’ functionality that provides a real information about the market pricing with a comprehensive fare that comprises the taxes, fees, base price and charges for each market.
EgyptAir chairman and CEO Safwat Mosallam said: “In today’s competitive marketplace, pricing can change dramatically in a matter of hours.
“For EgyptAir it is vital that we understand what is happening in the market so that we can respond with accurate and competitive fares. Airfare Insight allows us to do just that.”
The SITA solution provides the airline with a dedicated workflow that enables synchronised distribution, reduced errors and market prioritisation.
EgyptAir is currently among 19 airlines worldwide that have implemented SITA’s Airfare Insight system to manage their airfares.
