SFS Aviation has signed a contract with AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, to buy an AW139 medium twin helicopter.

The aircraft will be used for offshore transport operations in the Gulf of Thailand from its Songkhla base in southern Thailand.

The AW139, equipped with a power reserve, delivers Category A (Class 1) performance from a helipad located on an elevation or at ground level at maximum take-off weight with one engine inoperative capability.

The aircraft has a 12 or 15-passenger capacity and provides payload and performance for offshore operations.

The aircraft is scheduled to be delivered in January 2012.
