China-based SF Airlines has entered a maintenance agreement with Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services for its Boeing Classic 737 and 767-300 freighter aircraft.

The new deal represents Boeing Shanghai’s first maintenance agreement with the airline, which currently operates an all-cargo aircraft fleet of 39 planes comprising Boeing 767s, 757s and 737s.

Under the contract, Boeing Shanghai has already started a C-check on one of the freighters at its facilities at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

“Boeing Shanghai’s commitment to providing flexible maintenance services with exceptional value and high-quality to SF Airlines will support its domestic and international business expansion.”

To be performed to check the aircraft’s systems and components, the C-check work requires several days to complete.

Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services CEO Dermot Swan said: “Boeing Shanghai’s commitment to providing flexible maintenance services with exceptional value and high-quality to SF Airlines will support its domestic and international business expansion.”

A joint venture between Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and China Eastern Airlines, Boeing Shanghai currently provides various services such as engineering, aircraft maintenance and modification, component repair and overhaul, as well as supply chain management.

The company’s base and line maintenance capabilities also support 737, 767, 777 and 747 models, and can undertake major and minor checks, composite repair, structural modifications, cabin upgrades and other activities.

Last October, Boeing Shanghai announced a new long-term agreement with Thomas Cook Group Airlines for heavy maintenance checks on the airline’s entire Boeing 767 fleet.

To be carried out at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, the maintenance works also include C-checks on the 767 aircraft.
