The San Francisco International Airport and United Airlines, one of USA’s biggest airlines, are set to open a $253m newly-renovated terminal.
The 53,000ft² Terminal 3 East Concourse features additional circulation space, new concessions, eight new retail and dining outlets, including small businesses based in the San Francisco Bay Area, free Wi-Fi, 230 power outlets, and 200 USB outlets for airport passengers.
Designed by Gensler and Hensel-Phelps, the terminal comprises a concourse connecting Boarding Areas E and F, a central security checkpoint, three additional aircraft-boarding gates and a new United Club location.
The new 6,000ft² United Club will offer a panoramic view of airport operations and a gallery of photos of United’s history.
It can accommodate more than 130 people who can enjoy a complimentary menu with various seasonal choices.
Airport director John L. Martin said: "Terminal 3 East is the latest expression of our vision for the guest experience at SFO.
