Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line Fusion avionics has completed the first delivery of C Series aircraft to Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), marking its debut in the airline industry.

This aircraft will enter revenue service on 15 July, and features Rockwell Collins’ Primary Flight Control Computer (PFCC), MultiScan weather radar with predictive windshear, and dual Head-Up Display (HUD).

Rockwell Collins vice-president and general manager for business and regional systems Craig Olson said: "SWISS pilots will enjoy flying with the industry’s largest flight displays and find it easier to manage flight operations. In addition, having dual HUD enables both the pilot and co-pilot to keep their eyes outside at critical times, delivering unparalleled safety benefits and more efficient flight operations.

"Pro Line Fusion’s flexible design and open architecture has been intended to span a wide range of aircraft."

"From its inception, Pro Line Fusion’s flexible design and open architecture has been intended to span a wide range of aircraft."

For the C Series aircraft, Pro Line Fusion comes with five 15.1in high-resolution LCD displays, an integrated airport moving map, graphical flight planning, and a feature-rich roadmap. These features enhance situational awareness capabilities in the air and on the ground, enabling it to meet future air space requirements.

PFCC executes complex aircraft control laws to offer an enabling platform that optimises aircraft fuel efficiency, improves passenger safety and comfort.
