Qatar Airways Cargo has taken delivery of its new Boeing 777 freighter aircraft, which represents the expansion of its current fleet of freighter planes to 22 units.

The newly received aircraft is the 13th Boeing 777F aircraft and complements the airline’s global expansion strategy.

Qatar Airways Cargo’s current fleet of 22 freighters comprises eight Airbus A330F, 13 Boeing 777F and one Boeing 747-8F aircraft.

The carrier has previously deployed its existing fleet of Boeing 777 freighters on long-haul routes to serve the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, as well as selected destinations in Africa.

The Boeing 777F is designed to fly at a range of 9,070km and is capable of carrying a payload capacity of more than 100t.

"The new freighters will be deployed on long-haul routes in scheduled services and will further boost QR Charter services."

It is also capable of offering significant cost savings to cargo operators, as it requires fewer stops and associated landing fees.
