The Port of Seattle has confirmed that low-cost carrier Norwegian will commence service from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington, US, to Gatwick Airport in London, UK.

Starting in September this year, Norwegian plans to deploy its Boeing 787-9 aircraft for nonstop flight service on the Seattle to London route.

Seattle-Tacoma Airport Operations director Michael Ehl said: “Norwegian’s choice to serve Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is a testament to our region’s economic growth.

“Sea-Tac’s total passenger volume has grown 40% in just five years, and Norwegian’s Boeing 787-9 service will provide more options to travellers, as well as promote tourism and trade in the region.”

The new flight service will be configured to offer 35 premium and 309 economy cabin seats for passengers flying from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to London Gatwick Airport.

Norwegian chief commercial officer Thomas Ramdahl said: “London is an integral part of our ever-growing global route network, perfect for both business and leisure travellers.
