Thai Airways International’s budget airline Nok Air has taken delivery of its 21st next-generation 737-800 aircraft from Boeing.
This marks the delivery of third 737-800 plane directly purchased by Nok Air.

Nok Air CEO Patee Sarasin said: "The 737 provides us with the efficiency and reliability that is needed to succeed in today’s competitive environment.
"This airplane will continue to form the backbone of our fleet and we look forward to providing our customers with the best flying experience onboard our new airplanes."
Boeing’s Flight Services division has also begun a flight training programme in Bangkok, Thailand, with Nok Air to help enhance the capabilities of the airline’s expanding flight crew.

According to the estimates of 2015 Boeing Pilot & Technician Outlook, 226,000 new commercial aircraft pilots and 238,000 new technicians will be required in the entire Asia-Pacific region through 2034.
Boeing Flight Services chief pilot Steve Taylor said: "There is a growing demand for well-trained pilots in Thailand, and we look forward to working with Nok Air as they continue to expand their operations in the busy Asia-Pacific region."
Boeing’s 2015 Current Market Outlook predicts that by 2034, 14,330 new aircraft worth $2.2tn will be required in Asia.
In addition, Boeing announced that Spain-based airline Air Europa had leased its first 787 aircraft through an agreement with SMBC Aviation Capital.
Last year, Air Europa placed an order for 14 787-9 Dreamliners, and currently has a total of 22 787-8s and 787-9 aircraft on order as part of its strategy to continue its transition to an all-Boeing long-haul fleet.
