Passenger traffic at Muscat International Airport in Oman rose to 4,794,152 during the first nine months of 2011, a 14% rise on the figure for the corresponding period in 2010.

Arriving passengers, including transfers, increased to 2,429,296 during the period, compared with 2,080,616 for the nine months of 2010.

Departing passengers, including transfers, rose by 14% to 2,314,461.

Total passengers for September 2011 stood at 551,507 from 470,668 in September 2010.

Civil aircraft movement increased to 50,971 flights compared with 49,881 for the same period of 2010.

The volume of freight and mail movements rose to 74,054t during the first nine months of 2011, compared with 72,436t for same period last year.
