Latin America will require 2,028 new passenger aircraft worth $197bn between 2011 and 2030, according to an estimate by Airbus.
The forecast estimates the region will require 1,653 single-aisle, 334 twin-aisle and 41 very large aircraft.
Brazil will require 701 new passenger aircraft, including 501 single-aisle, 174 twin-aisle and 26 very large aircraft, between 2011 and 2030 worth $82bn.
Mexico will need 412 new passenger aircraft, which includes 371 single-aisle and 41 twin-aisle planes, worth $30.5bn between 2011 and 2030.
Colombia’s demand amounts to 135 new passenger aircraft between 2011 and 2030 with an estimated value of $13.7bn.
Airbus executive vice-president for Latin American and the Caribbean Rafael Alonso said: "Latin America’s aviation sector has boomed in the last five years and as a result it has never been stronger. Economic growth is enabling the rise of a new travelling middle class."
