Landmark seeks approval for Nepal’s second international airport

Landmark Worldwide has filed an application with the Nepalese Government to build the country's second international airport at Nijgadh, in the district of Bara.

Landmark Worldwide has filed an application with the Nepalese Government to build the country's second international airport at Nijgadh, in the district of Bara.

The project requires an investment of $600m and will be completed by 2015.

A feasibility report estimates that the airport will handle 15 million passengers per year.

Officials at the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation said that they will forward the application to a build-own-operate-transfer committee for consideration.

If the committee deems the application fit, it will forward the proposal to the Cabinet for the final approval, reports myrepublica.com.
