India-based airline Jet Airways has chosen Honeywell’s GoDirect software to reduce its fuel consumption and operating costs.
Part of Honeywell’s GoDirect family of connected aircraft technologies, the software offers data analysis, reporting and monitoring tools for improved fuel conservation.

The software can evaluate data from more than 100 reports that integrate with existing airline systems through a data interface, enabling airlines to quickly apply fuel-saving recommendations.
The GoDirect software also helps reduce carbon emissions from international flights.
Honeywell Aerospace connectivity services senior sales director Jason Wissink said: “Typically, fuel consumption accounts for as much as 20% to 40% of an airline's operating costs.
“Flight efficiency services are an important part of the global aviation industry, helping airlines reduce costs significantly and help regulate emissions, which India has committed to reducing.

Several airlines such as Etihad Airways, Finnair, Japan Airlines and Turkish Airlines are currently using Honeywell's GoDirect software.
Earlier this month, Honeywell joined the Clean Sky 2 Joint Undertaking research programme, which aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and noise levels produced by aircraft.
As part of its collaboration, the company has also received €35m in funding to develop aerospace technologies in support of the research initiative.
