Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has appointed defence and security company Saab to deploy its Aerobahn airport collaborative decision-making (A-CDM) solution at the airport.
The Swedish company will deliver its Aerobahn CDM platform, along with its A-CDM Milestone Manager and pre-departure sequencer.

It will also provide support and maintenance services at HKIA.
The CDM platform, which is in line with UROCONTROL A-CDM implementation guidelines, will help maximise the airport’s efficiency and enable customisation based on its needs.
The Aerobahn A-CDM Milestone Manager enables information sharing and milestone-tracking capabilities meeting the recommendations of governance organisations EUROCONTROL, ETSI, EUROCAE, and ICAO ASBU.
The solution provides flight information and implements real-time progress updates in line with business-standard 16 A-CDM milestones.

The system, which has been in production for over 12 years, is installed at 27 airports across the world.
Earlier this month, Saab also installed an SR-3 surface movement radar (SMR) at Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague, Czech Republic.
