B777 simulator

German federal aviation regulator Luftfahrt-Bundesamt has approved the Level D-certified Boeing 777-300ER full flight simulator, which will provide training to Lufthansa pilots.

The simulator was supplied by Lockheed Martin Commercial Flight Training (LMCFT) as part of a contract with Lufthansa Flight Training.

Lufthansa Flight Training simulator training division vice-president / head Ulrich Lindner said: "We are especially pleased that starting today Lufthansa Cargo as our main customer on the new 777 simulator can now train their pilots at their own home base."

The Boeing 777 simulator features an instructor operating system, high-fidelity aircraft system and avionics simulation.

A complete set of scenarios to accommodate initial and recurrent training are also equipped on the simulator.

Formerly Sim-Industries, LMCFT develops a suite of commercial aviation training products, including Airbus A320 and A330/340 and the Boeing 737, 767, 777 and 787 full flight simulators.

The company operates commercial aviation training centres in São Paulo, Brazil, and Incheon, Korea.

In September 2013, Lufthansa Flight Training signed a deal with Sim-Industries for Boeing 777-300 full flight simulator.
