Boeing 737-800

GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing unit of GE, has delivered three new Boeing 737-800 aircraft leased to Royal Air Maroc.

The leased aircraft were from GE’s existing order with Boeing and will join Royal Air Maroc as the airline looks to boost its fleet.

Boeing’s single-aisle 737-800 jet can seat between 162 to 189 passengers and can fly 260 nautical miles farther while consuming 7% less fuel.

It is equipped with a new flight deck with a large flat-panel display technology and allows the airlines to choose the latest display format.

The Next-Generation 737 is certified for ground positioning system landings and will use satellite technology to make landings more efficient, accurate and environmentally friendly.

Boeing 737 airplanes can cruise to a maximum altitude of 41,000ft and are equipped with advanced-technology blended winglets, which enhance the range, fuel efficiency and take-off performance, as well as lower carbon emissions to 3.5%, engine maintenance costs and noise.

Royal Air Maroc currently operates a fleet of more than 55 aircraft serving 83 destinations in Africa, Europe, Middle East and North America.

Last year GECAS leased two new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Royal Air Maroc.

Earlier this month GECAS also leased two new Airbus A320 aircraft to TACA Airlines, which were intended to enhance its operational fleet.
