Garmin has introduced the new G1000 NXi, a successor to the G1000 integrated flight deck.

Featuring a modern flight display design, the G1000 NXi incorporates new capabilities into an avionics platform with wireless cockpit connectivity, including database updates using Garmin Flight Stream.

Other features available include situational awareness with SurfaceWatch, visual approaches, and map overlay on the HSI.

The G1000 NXi is equipped to meet future airspace modernisation initiatives, and supports the display of various benefits such as traffic and subscription-free weather.

It is expected to provide weight savings of 250lb or more in King Air aircraft for new installations and enable additional baggage, passenger and/or fuel load flexibility.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted STC approval for the G1000 NXi integrated flight deck in the King Air 200 series aircraft, while approval for the King Air 300/350 is expected soon.
