G4S Belgium has secured a six-year contract to provide security services at Brussels Airport.
As part of the contract, the company is required to provide terminal security; passenger and remote screening; conduct baggage screening; access control for VIPs, crew and general aviation personnel; and supervisor presence inside the operations centre of the airport authority.

In order to win the contract from the Brussels Airport Company, G4S is said to have developed an ‘output’ based contract, working in partnership with the customer to establish their key performance indicators.
G4S Belgium CEO Jean-Paul Van Avermaet said: “We recognise the importance of a balance between a high-level security presence and first-class hospitality service.
“In the home of the EU, we are pleased to be working with the Brussels Airport Company to help secure this vital transport link.”
Around 900 full-time G4S staff, including uniformed security officers, contract managers and trainers, are employed at Brussels Airport.
