Frequentis and its partner Bayanat Engineering have been contracted by Abu Dhabi Airports to upgrade its voice communication infrastructure.
The VCS3020X IP solution provided by Frequentis will enhance air traffic control (ATC) voice communication at airports in the UAE.
The solution is a compact, fully duplicated, end-to-end voice communication system (VCS) that provides flexible integration of analogue and digital radio infrastructure.
It helps transmit high quality voice communications with the shortest possible air-ground delay.
Frequentis will install the VCS3020X at air traffic control (ATC) towers at Al Bateen Executive Airport and Delma Airport.
Equipped with a wide range of interfaces, the VCS3020X solution will facilitate future IP radio and telephone connectivity.
It also complies with the ED-137B European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE) standard.
Frequentis ATM Civil vice-president Hannu Juurakko said: "We are proud to have been selected by Abu Dhabi Airports to provide the latest voice communications technology.
"This shows that Abu Dhabi Airports continues to entrust Frequentis and its solutions. We look forward to completing another successful project with Abu Dhabi Airports and our UAE partner Bayanat Engineering."
The VCS3020X solution provides scalability, as well as workload sharing and networking capabilities to facilitate dynamic sectorisation or virtual ATC.
