Etihad Airways is planning to open a new first class lounge at Terminal 3 of the Abu Dhabi International Airport in UAE.

From May this year, the lounge will be open for the airport’s first class guests, Etihad Guest Platinum and Etihad Airways Partners Platinum guests.

The new lounge, which will see the fusion of the features of modern Arabian design, will also be open for those staying in The Residence on board its Airbus A380 fleet.

Etihad Airways chief commercial officer Peter Baumgartner said: "The new First Class Lounge in Abu Dhabi will be the jewel in the crown of our ever-growing global lounge portfolio, a showcase of intelligent design and innovation, and the world’s best premium airport experience.

"The new First Class Lounge in Abu Dhabi will be the jewel in the crown of our ever-growing global lounge portfolio."

The new lounge will spread over an area of 1,044m² and will be capable of accommodating 134 seats for its guests.

It will also include a dining area, bathrooms with shower facilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, modern business amenities, USB power outlets, and a playroom for children.

Abu Dhabi Airport will also see a new Midfield Terminal that is expected to open next year.
