The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded certification for Elbit Systems’ FalconEye combined vision systems (CVS), which will be configured aboard Dassault Aviation’s Falcon 2000S and LXS twinjet aircraft.

FalconEye is a head-up display (HUD) system that blends synthetic, data base-driven terrain mapping and real-time video generated by multispectral enhanced vision system (EVS).

The HUD will also offer situational awareness to flight crews operating in all conditions, day and night.

Elbit Systems aerospace division general manager Yoram Shmuely said: “FalconEye is the first HUD in the industry to blend synthetic and multispectral enhanced vision capabilities."

Equipped with a fourth-generation multi sensor camera, FalconEye provides very high-definition images.

When in synthetic vision system (SVS) mode, the camera displays a 30° x 40° field of view, ensuring full coverage of the viewing area with no tunnel vision effects.
