
Ireland’s Dublin Airport Authority announced an increase of 14% in passenger traffic in a year-on-year comparison during January.
According to the authorities, nearly 1.5 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport with an increase in passenger volume across all key destinations.
During January, nearly 690,000 passengers travelled through continental Europe. There was surge of 10% in UK traffic with 591,000 passengers travelling on the route.
More than 102,000 passengers travelled to US and Canada which increased the passenger volume to North America by 5%, when compared with passenger traffic during January 2014.
The authority also highlighted an increase of 39% in passenger traffic towards Middle East and North Africa with 69,000 travellers.
The Irish times cited an update from Airports Council International, which reported that Dublin Airport also surpassed its European peers last year.
