Dubai International Airport has opened a new facility at Terminal 3 for families travelling with children.

Built between Gates B7 and B8 on Concourse B’s Zen Garden, the new facility features a children’s area with play equipment, a climbing area and interactive games zone.

The facility has floor sporting structures such as sand-dunes, baby changing rooms, and television screens showing children’s programming.

Dubai Airports operations executive vice-president Chris Garton said: "We recognise that passengers waiting for a flight have valuable time that they would like to put to good use, be it catching up with work, sharing a meal with friends, shopping or spending time with family.

"These new facilities are the first of a series of changes we are making across the terminals at Dubai International to create welcoming spaces for the comfort and convenience of our customers."

The facility is located close to food and beverage.

In addition to family area, Concourse B now features more seating with warmer colours and better signage to enhance passenger experience.

The airport has also increased the capacity of the transfer area to accommodate additional passengers during peak hours.

Families waiting for flights will be able to benefit from the conversational-style seating that will be made available for both individuals and groups.
