The European Commission Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) has signed agreements worth €26m ($27.39m) with National Air Traffic Services (NATS), the UK's air navigation service provider, to accelerate the country's airspace modernisation.
Under the agreement, NATS will implement the Single European Sky ATM research programme (SESAR) to facilitate safe and environmentally friendly air travel in the UK, where air traffic growth is forecast to increase by 50% by 2030.
