Edinburgh Airport has appointed Air Navigation Solutions (ANS), a global air traffic service provider and wholly-owned subsidiary of DFS, as the airport's new air traffic controller, replacing the existing service provider NATS.

Under a ten-year deal, ANS will install a new tower and approach control at the airport, and take over air traffic control services from April 2018.

The City of Derry Airport has received £7m ($9.08m) in financial support from organisations in Northern Ireland.

The Government of Northern Ireland will provide up to £2.5m ($3.24m) to fund route development, while the remainder will be provided as part of a partnership with Derry and Strabane District Council.

The UK Government also intends to support regional airport links through its Regional Air Connectivity Fund.

US-based air service provider United Airlines intends to expand its code-share agreement with Air Canada, in a bid to continue its services to India.

Upon expanding the code-share, the airlines will begin a seasonal service from Vancouver, Canada to Delhi, India.

Air Canada will carry United Airlines' code on its seasonal flights operating from 20 October 2016 to 06 April 2017.
