Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) in the US has registered a significant 30% rise in local passenger traffic in August compared to the same month in 2016.
Last month, the airport handled more than 362,500 originating passengers, posting three years of consecutive year-over-year growth in traffic.

All scheduled airlines at the airport witnessed a double digit year-over-year growth.
Over the last three years, originating passenger numbers at CVG has increased by a considerable 58%, while carrier fares have decreased by more than 30.
In terms of cargo volumes, the airport handled 92,988t of freight in August, recording a surge of 39% compared to the same perior prior year.
In total, landed weight from aircraft operations during the month showed a year-over-year rise of 31% with more than 967 million pounds.

Since May 2013, the airport has added five new airlines and launched more than 50 new flight services to its network of 57 nonstop routes.
