Switzerland-based company comsuisse has completed the functional factory acceptance test (FAT) for the new voice communication control system (VCCS) operational solution at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Thailand.

A group of engineers from Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (Aerothai), a state enterprise under the Ministry of Transport in Thailand, successfully completed specialised maintenance training on ICS 200/60 system in May.

The new VCCS comprises the fully redundant and distributed ICS 200/60 system, including 26 operator positions and access to legacy, in addition to Voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communications.

It will be deployed at Suvarnabhumi International Airport as the main operational system in order to carry out air traffic control (ATC) over the next few weeks.

"Combined with the well-known local support by Schmid Telecom Singapore, we believe that comsuisse can provide a perfect long-term solution."

Aerothai senior director Paisan Praneetpongrang said: “We are delighted by the functionality of the system and customer service provided by comsuisse and its experienced crew.
