Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the new international terminal at Chandigarh airport in the Indian state of Punjab.
Chandigarh International Airport is a joint venture between Punjab, Haryana and Airports Authority of India (AAI), with AAI holding a majority stake of 51%.

The state governments of Punjab and Haryana hold 24.5% each in the airport located in Mohali.
The Rs9.4bn ($141m) project is expected to accommodate 1,600 passengers, and has parking bay for eight aircraft.
The airport will not immediately operate its first international flight due to pending works. An Indigo airlines service to Dubai is scheduled to be the first flight.
