West Africa’s Cameroon Airlines (Camair-Co) has deployed global IT provider SITA’s next-generation passenger services system (PSS) to handle every aspect of its operations.

The new Horizon passenger management and distribution system will manage all operations of the airline, including reservations, ticketing, pricing and departure control, as well as offer a loyalty programme and business intelligence.

The Horizon applications used by Cameroon Airlines include SITA Reservations, which manages bookings made online, at airline and partner sales offices, and through global distribution systems (GDSs).

Camair-Co CEO Jean Paul Nana Sandjo said: "Key to the successful management of any airline is a passenger service system that ensures that every aspect of your passenger operation runs like clockwork.

"SITA’s Horizon platform will be key to transforming Camair-Co into a competitive force in the region by providing flexible, reliable technology that manages every aspect of our business and supports a great passenger experience every step of the way."

Camair-Co will also install the Horizon Loyalty system, a web-based programme that can be integrated with SITA Reservations and is available on mobile.

The airline will also make use of SITA’s departure control services (DCS), which facilitate automated check-in, boarding and load planning for passengers.
