CAE has secured a five-year long-term support agreement (LTSA) from US Airways to assist the airline with simulator planning and engineering for six Airbus A320 and A330 full-flight simulators located in Charlotte, North Carolina and Phoenix, Arizona, US.

Under the LTSA contract, CAE will provide spares, repairs, updates, upgrades, technical training and other engineering support.

The CAE LTSA features price protection that covers all updates and services for the duration of the agreement.

The new simulators are expected to control the airline’s costs, maximise its training schedule and improve safety by providing crews with realistic training scenarios.

US Airways recently purchased a new A320 full-flight simulator, which is undergoing FAA certification, from CAE for its Charlotte training facility, and the simulator is expected to be in service by early 2012.
